The State of Berwick-Upon-Tweed Friday 28th Nov - Sunday 30th Nov

The State of Berwick is a salute to the culture of Berwick-Upon-Tweed, its culture and its people. In the face of centuries of conflict, border disputes and hardship, the Borough of Berwick has maintained a unique identity, fiercely independent and full of humour. Northumberland Lights will be encouraging you to explore a series of town centre installations, both on the streets and under cover, highlighting the environmental, cultural, architectural and historical wealth of Berwick.

Using film, (incorporating Inner States Film programme) music, spoken word, large scale projection, lighting and sound we are creating a series of experiences around and inside some very special locations within the ramparts of this extraordinary town. Giving expression to some remarkable local talents, and shedding light on some hidden aspects of Berwick's extraordinary history. Don't miss this unique weekend in one of Britain's most beautiful towns - you might discover one or two secrets lurking behind the historic facade.
